The Changan company is considered one of the leaders in the Chinese car market, however, not everything is so good with hybrid models. The Changan UNI-K IDD crossover will be one of the first models to show a pivot towards gasoline-electric technology.
Externally, the Changan UNI-K IDD car did not receive any special changes. The crossover’s powertrain emits a small “IDD” logo located on the boot lid, as well as a new exhaust system. Instead of four powerful pipes, two much more accurate elements are used here. In all other respects, the UNI-K model corresponds to the usual petrol version.
The main changes in Changan UNI-K IDD were in the engine compartment. It uses a hybrid technology called Blue Whale IDD, which, in fact, gave the name to the version. In the center of the power plant is a 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine with 170 hp. (260 Nm of torque). In conjunction with it, a 116 hp electric motor works. (330 Nm). On one electric traction, the crossover will be able to travel 130 km (according to the NEDC cycle). When working together with the internal combustion engine, this figure increases to 1 thousand 100 km.
On the date of debut in the market, as well as the approximate prices of the new Changan UNI-K IDD, nothing has yet been reported. In China, the regular petrol version of this crossover has been on sale since March 2021. Actual prices for it start at 153.9 thousand yuan (this is approximately $ 23,800). For the most complete version, the buyer will have to shell out 184,900 yuan, which is approximately $ 28,600.
