Toyota hit a historic milestone a few months ago with the 50 millionth Corolla. The Japanese C-class car has become the most massive model in the world of all time. In honor of this momentous event, a comic book series has been released.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine Auto with a link to the company’s website.
In the manga comic book series, the automaker told the story of the car, dating back to the 60s and modern times. Each story was inspired by one photograph submitted by the car owners and animated in a popular Japanese art style.
Along with the story of the car, the manga provides an interesting look at the history of Japanese automotive culture, because the first two or three generations of Corollas were often the first cars in Japanese families.
The 80s page tells the story of a man obsessed with his AE86 coupe and racing.
By the 2020s, the comic book plot is more focused on car technology. All stories are written in Japanese. However, Toyota celebrated its anniversary model with more than just comics. In November, the Japanese automaker unveiled three limited editions of the model that are only available in the Japanese market.
