After considerably modified Chiron has crossed a landmark threshold of 300 mph, Bugatti announced that leaves undefeated: the company abandoned the “speed wars”, saying that more will not fight for records maximum speed.
Here’s a photo rendering of our Venom F5 from a few years ago. Since then the design of our special car has evolved….
Hennessey Performance published Saturday, 18 April 2020.
However, American Atelier Hennessey to abandon their ambitions is not going to. The firm recalled that still is working on the project Venom F5 and published in social networks one of the early sketches car body design the future of the hypercar (by the way, almost nothing has changed) and sharing along the way, some curious details.
First, the official stated that with “Venom” Hennessey seriously planning to become the first firm to disperse production car to 500 km/h and more: the used wording of “500+”. Second, the company promised to introduce the first fully finished commercial sample Venom F5 already this summer (just Hennessey will build only 24 copies hypercar). Quite possibly, at this point, the record is already locked.
Interestingly, in the process of working on the coupe, there have been changes as the ambitions of its creators, and the technical equipment of the hypercar. Previously, Hennessey was expected only to take the mark of 290 mph (467 km/h), but after the demarche of the Bugatti, the Americans had to raise the stakes. Accordingly, it became more powerful and the engine “venom”, which instead of the planned 1 600 HP develops now 1 840 1 HP and 617 Nm of torque.
However, the Americans literally on the heels of their counterparts from Sweden. Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut in theory can be even faster – its estimated maximum speed is 532 km/h. That’s just to develop it to the Swedes, yet nowhere: the road to an appropriate configuration is still to be found.
