A Czech court has made VW and Skoda to pay millions of dollars compensation

Some owners of VW and Skoda cars with diesel engines in the Czech Republic won the case in the District court of Prague, and will now have to 23.3 million dollars in compensation after the scandal with the emissions of diesel engines of Volkswagen.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of 2435 people, but the plaintiff, which was made by the company Safe Diesel, said that more than 7,000 people have filed lawsuits initially, but from the scandal with emission only in the Czech Republic suffered 165 thousand vehicles.

According to the lawyer Safe Diesel Frantisek Jonsi, the solution is a breakthrough in the European industry because the court failed to achieve the same compensation as in the United States. Volkswagen Group has not presented the objections to the requirements, but Skoda continues to assert that the claim owners of the affected cars suffered no damage.

Note that since the beginning of the scandal to “deselect” Volkswagen was forced to pay fines of more than $ 31 billion dollars, starting in September 2015, when the company recognized that cheated on tests on the emissions of their diesel engines by using illegal software.
