The basis of custom car went to the Chevrolet Corvette C3 and powerplant borrowed from the Chevrolet Suburban.

In 2009, 18-year-old Scott ray bought his first car, a Chevrolet Corvette C3. He managed to pass on it for only about 6 months, after which the motor required a major overhaul. And because ray lives on a farm and in addition to rare car are often faced with the repair of various equipment, it was decided to establish a new sports car, diesel engine.

The owner explained that long ago drew attention to the diesel engines — they are more practical and more economical than classic petrol units. Ray did some research and realized that the 6.2 l engine of the large SUV Chevrolet Suburban without much modifications to fit on the Corvette.


Ray found an old Chevrolet Suburban 1987 release. The car was in poor condition: on the body there was a lot of rust, dents, and powertrain were not included reverse. But the unit worked properly, and as a bonus, the mileage was only 193 thousand. In the end, the farmer bought the SUV for $ 700.

Initially, ray rebuilt the engine, replacing all gaskets, seals and bearings, and repaired the transmission. The project, though not immediately, but ended in success — ray for a year moves on unique diesel Corvette C3. The consumption of the sports car is about 7.0 liters per 100 km.

Now ray has exhibited unusual Corvette for sale. According to the farmer, he has other projects he would like to do. So the young farmer plans to equip his old Ford F-150 diesel engine Cummins.
