Tuning studio ABT has presented a proprietary version of modifications to the 1.4 TSI hybrid engine from Volkswagen.
The possible appearance of an engine control unit for Volkswagen hybrid units based on a 1.4-liter turbo engine became known back in August.
The 150-horsepower gasoline engine is used in the hybrid power plant, which is installed on the Volskwagen Golf GTE, Skoda Octavia RS, Audi A3 Sportback 45 TFSI e, as well as Cupra Formentor VZ and Leon in E-Hybrid versions.
In the factory version, the cars develop 245 hp. with. and 400 Nm of torque, however, the installation of an ABT engine control unit can increase these figures by 30 liters. with. and 50 “newtons”, as a result of which the total output will increase to 275 liters. with. and 440 Nm of thrust.
In the same way, the 204-horsepower hybrid units, in which the 1.4 TSI is involved, will be transformed, and the owners of the hybrid Skoda Superb iV, Volkswagen Passat GTE and Arteon GTE can expect an increase in the total power from 218 to 234 hp. with. and from 400 to 440 Nm of torque.
This is only the second time that Abt has released a branded version for hybrid vehicles. For the first time, the company started tuning hybrids last year: then the Audi Q5 crossover in 55 TFSI e quattro and 50 TFSI e quattro versions underwent an increase in power.
