Edition AutoEvolution has found out the details of the electric sports car AC Cobra Electric Series 1. The model will be released in a limited edition of 58 copies in honor of the 58th anniversary of the construction of the first AC Cobra, each of which will cost 189.5 thousand dollars. In particular, it turned out that on one battery charge, an electric car will travel about 241 kilometers (the cycle of calculations was not specified), and its weight will be only 1050 kilograms.
The novelty will be offered in four color options, blue, black, white or green. As for the power plant, information about it appeared a year ago: the AC Cobra Electric Series 1 is equipped with a 230-kilowatt electric motor (313 horsepower) and batteries with a capacity of 54 kilowatt-hours, the drive is rear-wheel drive. From standstill to 100 kilometers per hour, the sports car accelerates in approximately four seconds (previously reported that in 6.2 seconds).
AC Cobra Electric Series 1 is designed in the style of other Cobras, as well as the interior.
In 2020, AC Cars has partnered with Derby-based Falcon Electric to unveil the 625hp Series 4 electric roadster. Inspired by the classic 1962 Cobra, it accelerates from standstill to 97 kilometers per hour (60 mph) in 3.8 seconds.
The Cobra can also be ordered with a 2.3-liter Ford Ecoboost or a 6.2-liter V8 from Chevrolet that develops 588 horsepower. The revived roadster retained a ladder frame, improved suspension, steering and brakes, and a carbon fiber body.
