Acura made the announcement during its annual Car Week show in Monterey. The only teaser image and video of the car was shown showing the car’s headlight, LED daytime running lights, radiator grille and the Integra logo just below the headlight.
It’s hard not to notice the similarities between the optics of the new Integra and the current Acura TLX Type S as they have a very similar shape and the LED daytime running lights are nearly identical. From what we can see, the grille will also have the same angular look as the TLX.
“Integra is back,” said John Ikeda, vice president and brand director for Acura, in a statement. “I am delighted to announce that Integra is returning to the Acura lineup with the same spirit of driving pleasure and original DNA, fulfilling our commitment to Precision Crafted Performance in every sense of design, performance and overall driving experience.
As mentioned, the car will be unveiled next year and Acura has promised to release more details about it as we approach its official premiere. Acura has not provided key details about the Integra, such as whether it will be a two-door like its predecessor or transform into something else.
