The German company has expanded the range of modifications to its California 6.1 van.
The new Volkswagen California 6.1 Beach will be available in two versions Camper and Tour and its main goal is to make the California range more accessible for large families, as well as those who need a comfortable MPV car for real trips.
Volkswagen California is already a favorite van for many motorists in Europe and the appearance of the new version will only strengthen the position of the model in the market. The first deliveries are expected by March 2021.
The novelty is equipped with a manually operated lift roof, 17-inch alloy wheels, a DAB radio with App Connect and a camp table with two folding chairs. The van will be powered by a 2.0-liter TDI diesel unit with 150 HP, paired with a 7-speed transmission (DSG).
The California Beach 6.1 in the Tour version comes with five seats, although there are up to six or seven-which would make this van the only factory camper on the market capable of accommodating that many people. It also has sliding doors on both sides, and the model costs 52,062 pounds (us $ 67,357).
As for the Camper specification, it has only four seats as standard (with the option to increase to five), as well as a pull-out kitchenette with a gas stove and a pull-out awning. Beach 6.1 Camper costs from 52,302 pounds (us $ 67,667).
