In early July, Genesis unveiled the first official images of the Genesis G80 Sport, without revealing any specifications for the model. The company today updated its website with the first mention of the G80 Sport with the message “Coming Soon.”
G80 Sport differs from the standard sedan by innovations in the exterior and interior. Outside, there is an aggressive aerodynamic body kit that includes the original front and rear bumpers, as well as a spoiler on the trunk lid. Also here are low-profile tires with an increased diameter of up to 20 inches with specially designed discs. The exclusive body color Cavendish Red (rich red metallic) will also be offered.
Among the features of the interior are a three-spoke sports steering wheel, unique upholstery for seats and door cards. The dashboard trim is available in three different trims, including the exclusive Sport in Real Aluminum, Real Carbon, and Diamond Weave Hybrid, which debuts for the first time on the G80 Sport. Customers will also be able to select the new exclusive G80 Sport quilted seats in a diamond pattern or V pattern.
There is still no information about the technical component of the model. The full presentation of the new Genesis G80 Sport will take place within a few weeks.
Recall that the standard Genesis G80 of the second generation (code RG3) has been produced since April 2020. This business class sedan is available with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The car is equipped with gasoline engines of 2.5 or 3.5 liters or a 2.2-liter diesel engine. The power of the first engine is 304 HP, the second – 375 HP, the third – 207 HP. The “pure electric car” version presented in April 2021 stands apart, it has two motors (one per axle) with a total output of 272 kW (370 hp).
