Designer Ken Okuyama presented the exterior of the Aiways cross-coupe.
Aiways has announced that it intends to begin serial production of the U6 electric crossover in 2022. CarNewsChina reports that designer Ken Okuyama was responsible for the exterior of the car. It is noteworthy that Okuyama was involved in the creation of the Ferrari Enzo and Maserati Quattroporte, as well as the Porsche Boxster.
The former creative director of the Pininfarina atelier has created a very demanding look for the car. The electric car received an unusual profile with a colored C-pillar that echoes the aggressive front end. Also noteworthy is the original head optics integrated into the air intakes.
The interior of the crossover looks minimalist with clean straight lines and vaguely resembles the interiors of Tesla electric vehicles. Among the unusual elements are a two-spoke steering wheel and a large lever on the central tunnel.
At the moment, the automaker has not declassified the characteristics of the model. Experts suggest that the model will be equipped with a 63 kWh battery, which will be able to provide a range of 650 km on the NEDC cycle. An electric motor with a capacity of 190 hp will act as a power plant. and 315 Nm of torque. Approximately the same engine is installed on the startup’s only production model – the U5 SUV.
