Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA presented officially

If you think that the version of the Quadrifoglio sedan with a 510-horsepower engine and rear-wheel drive is not the limit, know that you have like-minded people. To celebrate the 110 th anniversary of the brand Alfa Romeo engineers decided to give the company a gift, returning to the road a car with the symbol “GTA”.

GTA, that is “Gran Turismo Alleggerita” (“lightened Grand touring”) is a reference to the model Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA factory sports version of the road car, which was lightweight at 200 lbs.

In this new Giulia GTA is indeed a successor of the tradition: concerning the version Quadrifoglio it’s lighter for 100 kg. it was Achieved thanks to the use of carbon fiber in the hood, roof, front bumper, arches, front wings, as well as in the inserts on the rear fenders. Downforce has been increased due to the active front splitter (designed in conjunction with Sauber Engineering) and a redesigned bumper, a huge rear wing and massive diffuser at the rear. In addition, both the front and rear track has been increased by 50 mm, and the suspension Giulia GTA got new struts, springs and bushings.

2.9-liter engine with two turbines was also improved: now it produces 540 HP (30 more than before), thanks in particular to the exhaust system (with titanium) manufactured by Akrapovic. The first acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.6 s (Quadrifoglio doing this same exercise 3.9).

If such improvements are still not enough, you can order and version of the GTAm (from Modificata), which has front seats made of CFRP, sostituzione belts and safety cage, but no rear row (instead – covered in Alcantara Playground). Instead of side Windows and the rear window of this car – polycarbonate panels.

The amount of GTA and GTAm models will be released in 500 copies. Included with the car buyers will receive a racing helmet and full gear (suit, gloves, shoes). In addition, they will be invited to the training in the Alfa Romeo Driving Academy.
