Alpina Automobiles has completed development of the new B8 model, which will debut next Wednesday, March 24th. Writes about this edition Carscoops.
The new Alpina B8 sedan will be built on the basis of the BMW 850i model. “Biturbo-eight” 4.4 will increase power from 530 to 600 hp. At the same time, the 8-speed “automatic” and all-wheel drive xDrive are being modernized for the increased performance of the engine. The B8 sedan will receive original bumpers and multi-spoke wheels traditional for Alpina models, as well as its own logos, as this company is considered an independent automaker.
The new Alpina B8 sedan will sit between the BMW 850i and the BMW M8. The first accelerates to a speed of 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds, and the maximum speed reaches 250 km / h. The performance of the second is 600 or 625 hp. in the Competition version, and acceleration to the first “hundred” takes 3.3 and 3.2 seconds, respectively. The maximum speed is limited at around 250 or 305 km / h.
The new sedan Alpina B8 should be closer in its parameters to the 600-horsepower M8, but will yield to the 625-horsepower version of the M8 Competition. It is planned that a similar model will later be presented in the form of a classic coupe as well as a convertible, and after that the Alpina B8 will cover the full line of BMW 8-Series bodies.
