Photo spies spotted a camouflaged prototype of a Great Wall X Cannon pickup truck on the roads of China.
A test prototype of the novelty was spotted in China, where it was loaded onto an auto transporter. It is worth noting that there were no taillights on the body of the car, and their design remains a mystery. The headlights of the X Cannon differ from the concept and more closely resemble the Tank 600, which is expected to be shown at the Chengdu Auto Show in August.
Unfortunately, the premiere of the X Cannon in Shanghai did not take place, but spy photos of the novelty’s salon have already been leaked to the network. The interior of the car is finished in leather, and stylish texture inserts can be noticed on the center console. The pickup will be equipped with a digital dashboard, a compact steering wheel, a multimedia complex with a massive screen, which will be located above the climate control unit.
In terms of dimensions and weight, the X Cannon will be comparable to the American bestsellers of the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 segment. Under the hood of the novelty there will be a 3.0-liter 354-horsepower V6 combined with a 9-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the X Cannon can be equipped with a hybrid transmission with an electric motor integrated into the automatic transmission.
Experts believe that the production version of the X Cannon may debut before the end of this year. But it is also worth noting that there will be no large-scale auto shows in 2021, so it is possible that the Great Wall will hold the premiere until next spring.
