James Glikenhaus, the head of the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, has posted on his page in Facebook photos of the first production instance of the SUV Boot. The car is a modern version of the Hurst Baja Boot 60-ies and in stock form can take a route off-road racing Baja 1000.
Design SCG Boot revealed on rendering back in February of this year. Now Glikenhaus showed looks like the serial SUV, photographing it together with the original Hurst Baja Boot. The latter belongs to the Glikenhaus and is often used to participate in various Competitions of elegance. No new information about a new Boot is not reported.
We know that over the appearance of an SUV, worked as an industrial designer Michael young. The basic version of the Boot is able to ride off-road race Baja 1000, and the car with a special package of improvements – to participate in the competition. In the equipment of the SCG Boot includes Fox shocks with internal bypass channel, racing wheels with 37-inch tires BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 and brake calipers Wilwood Dynapro. The ground clearance of this SUV is equal to 394 mm and suspension travel is more than 480 millimeters.
Set Baja Package includes the installation of dual shocks per side, reinforced lower arms, racing brakes Wilwood Aero6 with 355-mm rotors (our database 305 mm) and Gearworks Turbo 400 transmission, extra fuel capacity, and a full set of communication tools, GPS, system of air supply to the helmets, and the increase in suspension stroke up to 560 millimeters. As the power plant on Boot SCG is expected to use a 6.2-liter LT4 GM with a mechanical supercharger from Chevrolet Corvette Z06 previous generation. This engine produces 659 horsepower and 881 Nm of torque.
According to preliminary information, the SCG Boot will take part in the 52nd annual race, the Baja 1000, which will be held from 19 to 25 November in Ensenada, Mexico.
