The flagship SUV Toyota Land Cruiser has recently changed its generation, so the next in line is the “junior” Land Cruiser Prado. The latest information said that the premiere of the new Prado will be postponed from 2022 to 2023, however, as it turned out, everything is not so obvious.
According to the portal “Creative Trend”, the new generation of Land Cruiser Prado, contrary to rumors, will debut in the summer of 2022. The car, like its “older” brother Land Cruiser, will retain the frame structure, as well as the recognizable brutal appearance.
The basis for Prado 2022 should be a simplified version of the modular platform TNGA-F (GA-F), which previously formed the basis of the “three hundred”. Moving to a new “cart” will make the new “Prado” lighter and more comfortable than its predecessor, as well as retain its off-road qualities.
The aggregate side of the new Prado is still kept secret, but, most likely, the line of its engines will include a 3.3-liter “turbodiesel” with 299 “forces” and 700 Nm, which the SUV will borrow from the LC 300, as well as a 3.5-liter twin-turbo “six” with a return of 415 hp. and 600 Nm. Both will be assisted by a 10-band automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system with three differential locks.
In addition, the new Prado may have a hybrid power plant based on a diesel internal combustion engine, although the debut of such a version will take place no earlier than the end of 2023.
