Photospies have captured the 2022 Honda Civic again. But the design is not surprising as the patent images surfaced in September and Honda unveiled the Civic concept two months later.
The latter was an accurate preview of the production model as it features a thinner grille, smaller headlights and a wide lower air intake surrounded by C-shaped fog lamp housings.
It’s worth noting the less bold bodywork that gives the Civic its mature look. The designers also endowed the model with a prominent shoulder line and stylish two-tone alloy wheels. The model has a relatively simple rear end with large taillights. A new trunk with an integrated spoiler can also be seen.
The biggest mystery is the interior, but Honda previewed it when it unveiled the concept last fall. As a result, we can expect a minimalist cabin with a digital instrument cluster and a free-standing 9-inch infotainment system. There should also be a honeycomb mesh trim that flows into the vents for a seamless look.
Engine variants will be saved. That means there could be a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder supercharged engine with 158 hp. and a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 174 horsepower.
