And here is the new crossover Renault Austral

Renault continues to reveal details about the new Austral crossover, the premiere of which is scheduled for March 9 this year. This time, the manufacturer published a photo of a camouflaged prototype of the serial version of the model.

It is worth noting that Renault has creatively approached the production of a camouflage coating, which is a separate piece of colored foil. Each such pile was carved by hand. Thus, we got “a huge puzzle that hides the design of the future crossover.”

At the same time, despite the camouflage coating, it can be assumed that Renault Austal will receive some design solutions from the Megane E-Tech electric crossover, which, recall, was introduced last year.

As for the interior of the Renault Austral, its main feature will be the L-shaped digital cockpit, which consists of a digital instrument panel visually combined with a 24.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. New multimedia with an intuitive OpenR Link interface allows you to control almost all the functions of the car “with just one or two clicks”.

Renault Austral will be built on a new version of the CMF modular platform – thus, the car will be as technically unified as possible with the third generation Nissan Qashqai. The range of engines will include gasoline-electric power plants based on 1.3-liter turbo units operating according to the “moderate hybrid” scheme. The engines will be paired with both a manual transmission and a CVT.

Recall, for the first time, Renault announced the appearance of a completely new Austral crossover at the end of 2021. The name of the model comes from the Latin word australis (in translation – “southern”). In the model range of the French brand, the novelty will gradually replace the Renault Kadjar crossover, which the manufacturer decided to leave without a direct successor due to lack of popularity.
