The new KIA Sportage short wheelbase debuted at the IAA Munich Motor Show.
The short KIA Sportage was first unveiled last week before the show. Designed specifically for the European market, the crossover is 133mm shorter than the global version. Regardless, it has many of the same designs and colors as the long wheelbase version.
The GT-Line features vibrant body colors and an interior that uses a black and white interior to create contrast and a vibrant ambience. It also features special badges, dark contrasting wheel arches, black painted mirror caps, dark 18-inch wheels and more.
A range of powertrains are offered to European buyers, including plug-in hybrid, mild hybrid and diesel.
All hybrid versions are powered by a 1.6-liter T-GDI engine with varying degrees of electrical support. The plugin tops the range with 261bhp. Diesel also displaces 1.6 liters, although it comes with two 113bhp outputs. or 134 hp
All will be available with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission. All European models will also be available with Idle Stop-and-Go technology. This system works in conjunction with other ADAS systems to prevent unnecessary system shutdown and startup.
