Aptera will begin shipping its sEV (short for Solar Electric Vehicle) this year. A feature of the car will be a power reserve of 1609 km on a single charge. Production starts at the plant in Carlsbad, California. This year, Aptera intends to produce about 20,000 three-wheeled electric vehicles.
Our team spent last week testing our Alpha and Beta vehicles at the track. We couldn’t be happy with our results! Who’s ready to some footage of #Aptera in action? pic.twitter.com/FXpm9xS7Rm

In the meantime, the company offers a look at the testing of the prototype Beta series on the track, which tested the handling of the car. The manufacturer claims that the sEV has a very small weight (816 kg) and a good power plant. Despite the presence of only three wheels, the car is very stable, and the control at high speed in Aptera is called “interesting”.
To date, the company has collected 15,000 orders for sEV (an initial deposit of $100). At the same time, the prices for the novelty are already known, they start at $25,900 and go up to $50,700. The basic version of the model has a power reserve of 400 kilometers and can accelerate to hundreds in 5.5 seconds. And thanks to solar panels, the electric car will travel an additional 40 km. A single electric motor produces 134 horsepower.
In the top configuration, the sEV will receive significantly more solar panels, due to the energy of which it will be able to drive about 76 km. The total power reserve reaches 1609 kilometers. The electric motor already produces a much more impressive figure of 201 hp, which allows you to reduce acceleration to 100 km / h to 3.5 seconds.
Although it is definitely an unfinished replica, I would be interested in contact details, anyway. Maybe this could be an interesting project.
