Chinese concern BAIC has unveiled the first model built on a new modular platform BMFA – “the trolley”, which was developed in cooperation with Daimler. The crossover will be sold under the brand name of Beijing (translated from the English “Peking”) and will offer a fully digital interior as well as an autopilot the second level.
The architecture of the BMFA will allow BAIC to create a range of compact and midsize models with petrol and hybrid power plants. The new platform offers a base front-wheel drive, transverse powertrain, front suspension type McPherson and multi-link design at the rear. Between the axes reserved for the traction battery.
