Aston Martin has begun testing a new modification of the Aston Martin DBX crossover. “Spy” photos from the tests were published by Motor1. According to the publication, we are talking about a powerful S-version of the model. It is expected to receive a 12-cylinder engine.

In the photographs, the car is hidden by a film. However, the DBX has a new bumper with large air intakes, redesigned optics and an exhaust system with four tailpipes. The car is expected to premiere next year.

A regular Aston Martin DBX is powered by a Mercedes-AMG four-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that develops 550 hp. and 700 Nm of torque. The motor is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive with an active center differential and an electronically locked rear differential.

The car is capable of gaining the first “hundred” in 4.5 seconds, and its maximum speed is 291 km / h. Thus, the novelty turned out to be slower than its direct competitors in the person of Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus. For comparison: the first with a 608-horsepower W12 accelerates to 100 km / h 0.4 s faster, and its “maximum speed” is 301 km per hour. “Urus”, equipped with a 650-horsepower twin-turbo V8, gains “hundred” in 3.6 seconds, and its top speed is 305 km / h.
