A recent hearing about the imminent resignation of Andy Palmer received official confirmation a few hours ago, the CEO of the British carmaker was appointed Tobias Moers previously held a similar post in the German Mercedes-AMG.
British Aston Martin has just announced that Andy Palmer is leaving the post of President and CEO of the British manufacturer of exclusive sports cars. In turn, the now former CEO of Mercedes-AMG Tobias Moers assumes the role of CEO of the company. 54-year-old Mears will be in the headquarters of Aston Martin in Gaydon, Warwickshire, and will start its work from 1 August this year.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-AMG has confirmed that Mears will be replaced by Philippe Chimera as Director General of the sports brand. He currently works as the head of Mercedes-Benz in Brazil, and will be joined by Jochen Herrmann as chief technical Director of AMG. And Shimer, and Herman will take office on August 1.
“Philip Shimer and Jochen Hermann are very experienced leaders and now they will lead the brand AMG,” said Ola Kallenius, chief representative of Daimler and Mercedes-Benz. “They will be able to monitor the development of the AMG, including ensuring that electrification played a key role in the future lineup of the company.”
