Next Monday, March 22nd, Aston Martin will unveil a new version of the Vantage coupe. So far, the manufacturer has published the only teaser in which the car is shown in profile, and has not specified any details.
At the beginning of last week, the British have already demonstrated one special Vantage – a safety car for the new Formula 1 season. Among other things, he received a four-liter V8 turbo engine, boosted from 510 to 535 hp, as well as a new front splitter, generating 155.6 kg of downforce at a speed of 200 km / h – more than 60 kg more than on the serial coupe. In addition, the suspension and steering have been improved, additional ventilation slots have appeared on the hood, among other things.
It is expected that now the civilian Aston Martin Vantage will be modified in a similar way, providing it with a more developed aerodynamic body kit. There is no certainty about the name yet, but the prefix AMR can again be added to it: the year before last, the company already produced such a car in a limited edition of 200 units. That Vantage AMR was not more powerful, but lighter than standard, and received a seven-speed manual instead of an eight-band automatic, as well as carbon-ceramic brakes as standard.
59 cars out of those two hundred were made even more exclusive, having decorated them in honor of the 60th anniversary of the historic victory in the 24-hour Le Mans marathon. This required a surcharge of 25 thousand euros, moreover, the “regular” Vantage AMR cost 184,995 euros – almost 31 thousand euros more expensive than the standard one.
