Aston Martin showed the “face” of the farewell V12 Vantage

A couple of weeks ago, Aston Martin announced the V12 Vantage Final Edition, the model with which the brand is expected to end the 12-cylinder era. At that time, the company published only a small video in which it did not show the car itself, but only gave the sound of the engine running. Now the design is being declassified as well.

The first photo of the novelty was published on social networks, on which the car is shown in the company of its predecessors. Consider a new grille and a protruding front splitter. According to spy shots, it may be just part of a more substantial aerodynamic package.

The engine for the V12 Vantage Final Edition is expected to be borrowed from the collector’s edition V12 Speedster. At the latter, the 5.2-liter unit develops 700 hp. and 753 Nm, but for the “farewell” Vantage it can be derated up to about 650 hp. According to unofficial data, the body of the supercar will be completely made of carbon fiber for the sake of weight reduction. The circulation is supposedly limited to 299 copies. According to the manufacturer, the premiere will take place during 2022, while insiders clarify that it is scheduled for March.

Earlier this year, Aston Martin CEO Tobias Moers pledged to replace the current DB11, Vantage and DBS models with electric vehicles. The first battery-powered vehicle will be released in 2025 and will be able to cover at least 600 kilometers on a single charge. The brand’s mid-engined supercars – the Valkyrie, Valhalla and the future Vanquish – will use hybrid technology. By the end of the decade, the manufacturer will electrify the entire civilian model range: only track cars will remain fuel.
