At the Frankfurt motor show will show a Hyundai i30 N Project C racing track

The Korean carmaker is preparing its response to Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport or TCR.

Remember that mysterious prototype of the Hyundai i30 N, which was seen last month at the Nurburgring? The secret is now revealed when we look at the new Project C, a special limited edition that will be sold exclusively in Europe. Based on the version of “charged” hatchback at 271 HP, track-oriented variant will be released only 600 copies.

Answer Hyundai VW Golf GTI Clubsport and later TCR received less weight due to the use of carbon fiber together with light 19-inch wheels. The company isn’t saying how much weight she managed to remove – it will be “much easier” – but we will remind you that the standard i30 N weighs 1429 kg.

Probably lightweight body will allow to reduce time of acceleration to 100 km/h, which currently stands at 6.1 seconds. Hyundai mentions that the i30 N Project C also boasts some aerodynamic settings, as well as the improvement of the driveability, which made the car more responsive and fun to control.

That’s all the information that Hyundai revealed, along with a few images of a fully camouflaged prototype with an orange sticker with a stylized letter “C” and a layout with a picture of the track, located in its research center in Namyang in South Korea. It is expected that future versions of the i30 N will finally feature the long-awaited automatic transmission with double clutch, and you may also receive all-wheel drive version.

Who of the trio cooler: VW Golf GTI Clubsport, TCR or Hyundai i30 N Project C?
