The German tuners added power stylish hatchback.
The Audi fans and fans of “charged” hatchbacks were sad when their favorite car brand almost a year ago announced the refusal to develop a new S1 Sportback. Citing high cost, the automaker refused a new powerful variant of its latest supermini, which means that the version of the VW Polo GTI engine will remain the flagship hatchback of the concern. As in the model from Wolfsburg, it offers 197 HP of power and 320 Nm of torque from a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine.
However, it took the German tuners from Studio ABT, who has developed a retrofit kit adapted to A1 40 TFSI. As you may recall, the updated nomenclature of Audi says that the designation “40 TFSI” based on the petrol models with the engine capacity from 167 to 201 HP
Modified ABT A1 Sportback you see here, received an increase in power and can now boast of 236 HP and 360 Nm, which probably improved the speed of dispersal to 100 km/h compared to 6.5 seconds, the standard version.
In addition to the increase of power, ABT has installed a set of springs that lower the premium subcompact hatchback as much as 30 mm to provide a more aggressive look, enhanced with 18-inch wheels with glossy black finish.
Compared to the S1 Sportback preceding generation, modified A1 from ABT has an additional 8 HP, but its torque is below 10 Nm. The previous S1 was equipped with all-wheel drive Quattro system from Audi Sport, while the most powerful A1 sold today, still have only front-wheel drive.
In conclusion, we note that A1 is the most exciting ever created by Audi, was a special edition A1 Quattro, presented at the end of 2011. It had a capacity of 252 HP, and its circulation was limited to 333 cars.
