Audi e-tron got under revocable campaign because of the risk of fire

The German automaker is forced to conduct a service campaign that will affect about 1.6 thousand electric crossovers.

As stated in the official message of the brand, subject to review 1 644 electric vehicles Audi e-tron, and only 540 copies were already handed over to buyers. The reason was the leakage of accumulating batteries in which water can enter and cause short circuit. In the worst case this can lead to a vehicle fire.

Most likely, the fault is systemic, which is not revealed at the stage of tests of the crossover. Under review were the vehicles implemented in the U.S. and other countries. At the moment there is no information about any incident that is associated with the defect.

Since August, all owners who received the Audi e-tron, will be notified of the need to provide a crossover in nearest service center of the brand. The delivery of previously ordered cars and the acceptance of new applications will continue as usual.
