The Audi company continues the sea trials of its future flagship Q9, which started at the beginning of this year. As before, the car, which will be larger than the Audi Q7, is being driven in in a tight camouflage, but even through it, some details of its exterior design can be seen.
As can be seen in the spy shots published on the Web, taken on the roads of China, the largest and most expensive crossover in the Audi lineup will get a wide radiator grille, aggressive head optics and a massive bumper with vertically oriented side air intakes and foglights. p>
Technical details about the new product are still kept secret. According to rumors, the overall length of the Q9 will exceed 5.2 meters, and the MLB Evo architecture, on which other large SUVs of the VW Group (Touareg, Cayenne, Bentayga and Urus) are built, will act as a platform for the crossover.
At the beginning of the year, it was reported that the Audi Q9 could get a 4-liter petrol V8 with 600 horsepower under the hood, as well as a plug-in hybrid power plant. No other information has been released since then.
Audi’s new large crossover should go on sale in 2022. Its main competitors will be the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS.
