Ferrari and its controlling holding, Exor, have signed a multi-year contract with Jony Ive’s design studio, who until 2019 served as Apple’s chief designer and worked on the look of the iPhone and iPad. After leaving Apple, Ive founded LoveForm, while the IT giant remained one of its priority clients. Now the list of companies collaborating with LoveForm has been expanded by the Italian manufacturer Ferrari.

On the official website of Ferrari it is announced that it has signed a “long-term contract with LoveForm”, which “will combine the legendary performance of Ferrari with the unrivaled experience of the team of Joni Ive, who created things that change the world.” The company also added that Ive will join the Board of Partners of the Exor holding.

The details of the contract were not disclosed, but it is known that it concerns “projects in the field of luxury goods.”

“As Ferrari owners and collectors, we are delighted to be working with this outstanding company and in particular its design team led by Flavio Manzoni,” said Ive and his business partner, Mark Newsom.

At Apple, Ive has designed the iPod, iPhone, Macbook and Apple Watch. In addition, he has voiced most of the commercials announcing new products for the company. After he left Apple, he was tipped for the position of CEO of Ferrari. However, in 2021, Benedetto Vigna was appointed to this position, who in turn participated in the development of the screen rotation technology first used in the iPhone 4.
