Beautifully Sings: New Maserati GranTurismo

Maserati has been producing the previous generation GranTurismo for at least 12 years, and a completely new model will soon be on the market. In recent months, photo spies have seen a number of prototypes tested. Not long ago, YouTuber Varryx was able to film him testing on the street. Like the previous model, the prototype will have a harsh exhaust sound.

Maserati has yet to reveal that the powertrain will power the new GranTurismo, but all signs point to the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 as the mid-engined MC20 supercar. This engine has a dual injection system and a pre-combustion system with twin spark plugs. It delivers 621 hp. and 730 Nm of torque in the MC20, but it could be reconfigured for use in the GranTurismo.

Be that as it may, the new model will inevitably be significantly more powerful than its predecessor, whose maximum power was 454 hp. and 520 Nm of torque in the MC Stradale and Sport versions. Will the new engine sound as good as the naturally aspirated 4.7-liter Ferrari V8 it replaces?

Maserati has confirmed that the new GranTurismo will also be available in a fully electric form. That said, it is unclear whether this variant will be positioned as a flagship model, or it could be cheaper than the standard V8 variant.

Visually, the new GranTurismo will have an overall shape similar to the first generation model, but with redesigned front and rear fascia to reflect the brand’s current design language.
