The fourth generation Skoda Octavia is an important car for the Czech brand.
Despite the seemingly unstoppable increase in the number of SUVs, in particular, in the model series of Skoda, the Octavia it is a leader and since the release it accounts for approximately one third of global production of the brand.
At present, the Czech Corporation is not yet ready to show the finished version of the news, recently, however, journalists were allowed to evaluate the concepts of the model.
The novelty will receive the TDI engine of 2.0 liters capacity of 148 or 115 horsepower and a gasoline engine of 1.5 liters. The power plant will operate in conjunction with the 6-skorodnoe manual gearbox or 7-speed DSG transmission. In addition, there will be available a variation with pluggable modules, and a hybrid version.
The new model will be built on the familiar MQB architecture. However, the manufacturer has improved the aerodynamics by 14%. Specialists of the Czech brand also worked on the suspension and steering to provide even большеt comfortable and quality management.
The most significant changes affected the electric platform, which was completely redesigned for the introduction of new assistive devices for motorists. Now universal is equipped with the latest Autonomous system of the second level, consisting of a containment system in the lane and adaptive cruise control. Matrix led headlights will also be offered as an option. Was upgraded and the multimedia complex, which got the ability to update content over the network.
The interior of the new Skoda Octavia will get a more cool design and expensive materials. Also got a new 2-spoke steering wheel and the instrument panel, similar to the one that is the Mercedes S-Class last generation.
Although the space for passengers has not increased (it still is one of the largest in its class), the trunk grew in the hatchback – 600 l, a wagon – 640 l, which is an increase of 10 and 40 l, respectively.
