Mercedes-Benz provided information about prices and technical characteristics of the UK for the GLA’s second generation, which offers new technologies and greater comfort compared with the predecessor.
The compact SUV is offered at a price of 32 640 pounds ($42 300) in the configuration Sport entry-level, which can be equipped with a 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 161 HP.
Standard equipment at this price includes 18-inch alloy wheels, front seats heated, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and dual-zone air conditioning.
Prices rise to 34 140 pounds ($44 300) for the Executive version of the Sport, which uses front and rear Parking sensors along with the advanced technology of the saloon, and rise in three types of finishes AMG Line to the highest specifications AMG Line Premium Plus, the price tag which starts with 38 640 pounds. Motor options available to the top of the range include diesel four-cylinder with 187 horsepower and petrol unit with a turbine engine with recoil 221 horsepower.
Stylistically, the new GLA is based on its predecessor, although the ground clearance increased by 143 mm. head designer Gorden Wagener claims that it “combines a muscular off-road genes with our philosophy of sensual purity.”
The new GLA has a length of 4410 mm, width 2020 mm and a height 1611 mm, making it 14 mm shorter and 2 mm narrower, but by 104 mm higher than the old model. It is based on the “cart” MFA second generation Mercedes-Benz suspension with a transverse engine.
