The company Bentley published photos of the pre-production prototype of the Bacalar model.
At the moment, the new Bentley Bacalar roadster is undergoing development tests before the start of production. These tests will last at least 20 weeks. A pre-production prototype of the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar called Car Zero will test for handling, stability at high speeds and the ability to reduce vibrations and noise. It is planned that the roadster will be able to accelerate up to 322 km / h.
Specifically for the Bacalar roadster, the company has developed more than 700 new parts, of which 40 are made of carbon fiber, and another 100 are made using 3D printing. In total, only 12 copies of such roadsters will be released, each of which will be maximally individualized.
The new Bentley Bacalar will be built on the chassis of the Continental GT model, but only the door handles will be the same. The new model will be equipped with a 6.0-liter 12-cylinder powertrain that produces 659 hp and 900 Nm of torque. Paired with the engine will work 8-band “automatic” and all-wheel drive. Production of Bentley Mulliner Bacalar commercial vehicles will begin in 2021. The minimum cost of such a roadster will be 1.5 million pounds, which is approximately $ 2 million at the current exchange rate.
