The Bentayga crossover became the best-selling model, the largest market is China.
British auto-luxury manufacturer Bentley has summed up the results of the first half of the year. It looks like the company has already recovered from the economic consequences of the pandemic: several records have been set at once.
From January to June 2021, the brand sold 7,199 vehicles, which was the best result in its entire history. Compared to the pre-coronavirus 2019, the growth was 50 percent. The bestseller was predictably the Bentayga crossover, which sold 2,766 copies – more than the combined sales of 2,318 Continental GT coupes and convertibles. The remaining 2,063 cars are the Flying Spur sedan, serving as the flagship since the Mulsanne was discontinued. Bentley is confident that demand will continue to grow in the second half of the year, thanks in part to the release of the updated Bentayga Hybrid and the new Bentayga S.
Also during this period, the brand received a record revenue of 1.3 billion euros. By comparison, the first six months of 2019 was € 834.8 million, while the previous record high of € 887 million was reached in 2014. At the same time, Bentley made a record profit of 170 million euros, but this result was surpassed in 2021.
For the first time in nearly a decade, China has become the largest market for Bentley, accounting for 2,155 sales. Residents of North and South America bought almost the same amount – 2,049 cars. The third place was taken by Europe (1142 units), the fourth – the Asia-Pacific region (778 units), and the homeland of the brand (554 units) closes the top five.
