The model is intended for China only, where it will be offered with the turbo engine from the related crossover Atlas.
Pre-series van VW Viloran debuted last fall at the motor show in Guangzhou. Then mark decided to do without details about the hardware, even the interior thought it best not to Shine. And finally, the model is fully declassified. Simultaneously, China started to accept preliminary applications, but the start of “live” sales there is scheduled for may. Recall Viloran position as biznesmena – such machines in China are quite popular, they are used as mobile offices.
In the heart of the model is MQB platform with independent rear suspension. Length Viloran equal 5346 mm, width – 1976 mm, height – 1781 mm wheelbase 3180 mm. Thus, the van not only carries the status of the largest brands on the “cart” MQB, but in almost all size than its main competitor, the Buick GL8. The dimensions of the redesigned Buick’s latest-generation top version Avenir: 5219/1878/1799 mm, distance between axes – 3088 mm. Oh, and for comparison, the dimensions related Viloran crossover VW Atlas\Teramont (Chinese specifications): 5039/1989/1773 mm, wheelbase of 2980 mm.
The front part of the minivan was designed in the style of the flagship Touareg – the novelty has received similar grille and adaptive headlights matrix. In favor of Chinese customers, the exterior profusely decorated with chrome: shiny did both the upper and lower grille, trim glass insert on the rear bumper and the plate that connects the lights.
Inside Viloran already imitates Atlas – the van the same panel, except that replaced the deflectors, and the control unit climate control unit made touch. Seven-seat MPVs from salon, and in the second row has a separate captain’s chairs with footrests. Of course, the seats are upholstered in leather, is heated, ventilation and massage function. Also in the list of equipment includes: a virtual “tidy”, multimedia system with voice control, panoramic roof, adaptive cruise control, lane departure traffic, auto brake system (with the function of recognition of pedestrians) and retain the lane, avtoparkova.
As expected, the engine moved from the local VW crossover Atlas is petrol “turboservice” 2.0 TSI EA888 series. But there is a surprise: it used to be that the minivan will be offered only with the 220-horsepower version of this motor (350 Nm), but in fact got even MPVs and Junior 186-HP version (320 Nm). Engine combined with seven-speed robotized box DSG with two wet clutches. Four-wheel drive van not allowed. Main rival – Buick GL8 – also happens only a front, however, the Buick is more powerful: the redesigned van has a petrol “turboservice” 2.0, which produces 237 HP and 350 Nm (from the pre-reform GL8 returns the same motor and all is 260 HP, but these machines will soon disappear from showrooms).
Production Viloran adjusted in China at the plant of the joint venture of SAIC and Volkswagen. Prices are still preliminary: in the van with a 186-horsepower engine asking 350, 000 yuan (about $49 500 on the current exchange rate), with a 220-strong – 400,000 yuan (us$56 500). The exact price list will be published in may. However, for the price Viloran will remain between the standard Buick GL8 latest generation (the price of the pre-reform model from 289 900 yuan or 41 000 dollars, updated van has not yet been submitted but it is unlikely to be much more expensive) and luxury GL8 Avenir (from 459 900 yuan or $ 65,000). By the way, GL8 Avenir after restyling, a six – and quadruple modification, it is possible that Viloran later will get the same version.
Plans to sell the new minivan outside of China in the Volkswagen not yet announced.
