BMW continues to expand its lineup of plug-in hybrids on the basis of the 5-Series presenting today, August 12, BMW xDrive 545e.
The novelty is equipped with a hybrid unit consisting of a 6-cylinder petrol engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology and performance 286 HP, and simultaneous 109-horsepower electric motor. Thus, the total capacity of the unit, together with 8-speed Steptronic transmission and intelligent all-wheel drive BMW xDrive is 394 HP and 600 Nm of torque.
According to statements of the German manufacturer, 545e xDrive can accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h With only the electric sedan is able to accelerate to 140 km/h for a distance on one charge, 54 – 57 km Average fuel consumption of new items is of 2.1 – 2.4 litres per 100 km.

545e xDrive also offers different modes of driving. So, there is a Hybrid mode, which is standard and ensures balanced utilization of the internal combustion engine and electric motor.
