On the eve of the Nürburgring 24 Hours marathon, BMW unveiled its new M4 GT3 race car at the famous German autodrome. The camouflaged prototypes were shown to us several times last year, but now the coupe has made its debut in a new livery of the BMW Motorsport signature colors.
The racing sports car was developed in parallel with the new civilian “emka”. At the same time, if in the road M4 Competition the inline “turbo-six” S58 develops 510 hp, then in the M4 GT3 – already 590 hp. Also, the track car has a significantly redesigned body with different fenders, a hood and a large wing, and a different radiator grille. The outlet is located behind the right front wheel.
To date, the prototype has wound over 14 thousand test kilometers on different tracks. Already on June 26, the novelty will go to the start of its first race – this will be the fourth stage of the N? Rburgring Endurance series. Moreover, the tests will continue after that, and the cars will be handed over to the first buyers next year. The price is known – 415 thousand euros.
The M4 GT3 will replace the M6 GT3 that has been in use since 2016. BMW says the new sports car handles much better and at the same time requires less operating costs.
Late last month, BMW unveiled the new M4 convertible, which comes with all-wheel drive and the Competition package by default. The next step is an even more extreme version of the coupe, which will be marked with the CL or CSL nameplate: the other day our spies came across a prototype with a partially disguised body.
