BMW has created a huge display for passengers

The wide 31-inch BMW Theater Screen creates a cinema-like effect for the back row passengers. The novelty is presented at CES-2022 in Las Vegas.

The BMW Theater Screen is a 31-inch panoramic digital panel that extends across virtually the entire width of the passenger compartment and extends from the headlining to the front seat backrests. The display allows you to play video content in 16: 9, 21: 9 or even 32: 9 format (with appropriate cropping).

The screen resolution of 8000×2000 pixels provides detailed images when watching videos in Ultra HD format. Soundtrack is provided by the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with 4D Audio, transforming the car interior into a movie theater.

The tilt angle of the display can be adjusted using the entertainment system menu. The touch controls are located on special fields on the left and right sides of the display, so all passengers in the back row can use the BMW Theater Screen, regardless of the space occupied.

The folding process of the BMW Theater Screen is accompanied by a special sound effect created by the iconic composer Hans Zimmer. Upon activation, the display shows an original animation developed by BMW User Interface Design specifically for the My Mode Theater. At the same time, the sun shades are closed in the car and the interior lighting is dimmed.

BMW Theater Screen is 5G capable, has smart TV features, and is pre-built to connect to Amazon’s video services that offer movies, TV series, music, podcasts, and more. For customers in other markets where Amazon’s services are not officially established, local media providers may be selected in the future.
