BMW has released an electric pacer for MotoGP


The BMW Safety Car will be used in the IM Enel MotoE World Cup electric motorcycle racing series, which from 2019 is part of the MotoGP championship. The new peyscar will be developed on the basis of the BMW i4 M50 electric car, which is due to premiere in November 2021.

The combined output of the two BMW i4 M50 electric motors installed on the front and rear axles reaches 544 hp. with. The electric car consumes from 18 to 22.5 kWh per 100 km, according to representatives of the Bavarian brand. The company’s specialists have also developed a special sound for the M-line electric motors.

The debut of the new BMW safety car will take place on August 15, 2021 at the Red Bull Ring as part of the Austrian Grand Prix. The all-electric BMW pejscar will replace the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid that was previously used in the racing series.
