It is no secret that in the new generation, the BMW seventh-series sedan will receive fewer versions with internal combustion engines than electrified ones in one form or another. The flagship modification of the “seven” and at all should become an electric car called the i7. Now, as the Car publication reports with reference to insiders of the BMW company, the characteristics of the electric BMW 7-Series have become known: already in the basic version, it will receive two electric motors (one for each axle) with a combined power of about 544 horsepower. The electric car will receive a traction battery with a capacity of 100 kilowatt-hours, which will provide a power reserve of about 500 kilometers.
The premiere of the electric sedan of the seventh series should take place in 2023, after which the i7 will go on the Assembly line in Dingolfing. A year earlier, BMW should present the new generation 7-Series. If the Bavarian insiders are right, the electric “seven” will enter the market a year or two later than the flagship electric sedan Mercedes-Benz EQS. The transition from V12 to electric traction will make the seventh series faster: the BMW i7 will also have to get a “charged” version from the M Performance line, which, presumably, will receive the i7 M60 or Mi7 index. Modifications with internal combustion engines in the 7-Series will remain only two: the gasoline 740i and diesel 735d.
