BMW teamed up with famed American artist Jeff Koons to create an exclusive version of the M850i xDrive Gran Coupe. The special edition, dubbed The 8 X Jeff Koons, features a comic-book-inspired exterior and a striking Spider-Man-inspired interior. The Bavarian brand will build only 99 superhero pieces. The cost of each car will be $350,995.
The M850i xDrive Gran Coupe features an unusual design personally designed by artist Jeff Koons. The body of the car is decorated with a white and blue comic-style pattern that matches the yellow bumpers. In addition, the exterior of the model is complemented by a cartoonish explosion on the trunk and a stylized logo of the Bavarian brand on the hood. The interior of the special version of the designer was made in red and blue tones, which resembles the superhero suit of Spider-Man.
Technically, the M850i xDrive Gran Coupe remains the same. The car is driven by a 530-horsepower V8 petrol engine, which is combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. According to the company, engineers need at least 11 stages to assemble each model. Therefore, specialists will be able to produce only two cars per day.
The 8 X Jeff Koons will cost $350,995 each. Funds from the first copy sold will go to charity.
