A stretched wheelbase German car allows you to get more legroom for the rear passengers, and also leads to an increase in the length of the tailgate. The car will be sold only in China.
Mercedes-AMG A35L is not the only sedan with extended wheelbase, which debuted on passing now in the Chinese city of Shanghai motor show as the Bavarian BMW has also decided to introduce something similar. We are talking about a “stretched” version of the new generation of the BMW 3-Series – this version of the car was announced in the beginning of the year. Design inside and outside is practically transferred from the international model, but the rear doors are much longer.
The distance between the two axes has been increased by 110 mm and is now equal to 2 961 mm. Total length of 4829 mm.
According to representatives of the Bavarian brand, “stretched” sedan, the updated 3-Series offers best-in-class the amount of space in the cabin. Extra-long rear doors make it easier for passengers comfortable entry and exit from the vehicle, while the rear seats were developed especially for LWB models with “special shape and upholstery”. There are also new headrests with the “comfortable” pillows, along with the rear center armrest.
Under the hood is a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine, which produces 181 horsepower power and 300 Nm of torque. The engine is combined with 8-speed automatic transmission that transfers power to the rear axle.
It is reported that in China, the Bavarian novelty will go on sale by mid-year and will be produced at the plant of the joint venture BMW Brilliance and Chinese.
