At the moment the Bavarian company confirms the RWD model with a power reserve of more than 440 km.
After the presentation of the concept car iX3 in April last year, the company BMW has worked hard to create the production version of the all-electric crossover in the joint venture BMW Brilliance Automotive in Shenyang, China, and finally confirmed some technical details of the car which should be on line in 2020 for entry into the global market.
Primarily in serial iX3 will use battery power 74 kW-h, which will provide the SUV with zero emission cruising range of more than 440 km in the European cycle WLTP. Food will be provided by the electric drive system eDrive fifth generation, BMW is proud to announce that all of the components of the power plant is solely a private development company. The technology is scalable in terms of capacity and energy content and, thus, can be used in various concepts and automotive segments.
As for power iX3, that version of BMW, it will be 286 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Power comes from a single electric motor, which, according to the new information, will result in the movement solely to the rear wheels. The car will consume only 20 kWh per 100 kilometers, which will allow to use a relatively compact battery.
With the launch of the all-electric iX3, X3 will be the first model of the brand available with conventional petrol and diesel units, and with hybrid and fully electric engines.
