Specialists from the Spanish publication km77 have published a test report on the maneuver of evading a sudden obstacle from an electric crossover BMW iX.
During testing, auto experts found that the large BMW iX was able to pass the test track with a maximum speed of 74 km/h. Better results were shown by the previously tested Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, as well as the Tesla Model Y SUV.
During the very first test run at a speed of 80 km / h, the off-road vehicle caught the cones at the first turn, and then later the pilot realized that he would not be able to fit into the trajectory and did not complete the maneuver.
The car was able to pass the test track at a speed of 74 km/h. The testers tried to improve the result, but the best results could not be achieved. Auto experts noted that the reactions of the electric car never seemed alarming or dangerous. They associate low speed with the high mass of the car, because the BMW iX weighs over 2.5 tons.
The crossover BMW iX in the xDrive40 version, equipped with a 326-horsepower power plant, took part in the testing. For traction, 21-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli PZero Elect tires were used.
