BMW will unveil the production version of the electric i4 concept on Wednesday 17 March. This is reported by BMW Blog, citing a source familiar with the situation. There is no official confirmation of this information yet. Among the competitors of the car are the Tesla Model 3 sedan and the all-wheel drive electric sedan Audi e-tron GT.
The car has already been noticed by photo spies more than once during test trials. Judging by the pictures, the design of the novelty will be very similar to the Gran Coupe 4-Series. The electric car will differ from this model with a “closed” radiator grille, slightly different optics and a diffuser.
Photos of the i4 showroom have not yet been published. It is expected that the car will be equipped with a large display that will combine a digital instrument panel and a multimedia screen. The infotainment complex will receive a customizable configuration and gesture control function.
According to Carscoops, the basic version of the novelty will receive an electric unit with a capacity of 284 horsepower. Customers will also be offered a 335-horsepower version of the i4.
The power of the top version of the car will be 530 horsepower. Such an electric car can accelerate to a hundred in about 4 seconds. The power reserve of the novelty is 600 kilometers.
Serial production of the new electric car will begin at the plant in Munich. As previously reported, BMW will launch 25 all-new green models by 2025, 12 of which will have all-electric powertrains.
