Brand SEAT today marks 70 years

By modern standards SEAT can be considered not-so-old brand. For example, Ford and Peugeot have long celebrated their centennial anniversaries. On the other hand, Hyundai and Geely compared with the SEAT are relatively young. But, as in the case of people, the main thing is not the number of years, and how they were passed. And this SEAT can be proud of myself.

It all began in the postwar era, when Europe become a successful mass automaker meant to give the opportunity to go on a simple and inexpensive cars. Working together with FIAT, the Spanish brand has provided drivers and passengers with a bright solution – SEAT 600.

The first “million” car in the late 60-ies became the SEAT 124 (fans of Soviet classics know exactly what’s hiding under that index). The first car of its own design was the SEAT 1200 Sport, which even then you could see what fans of the brand love SEAT today and bright design combined with everyday practicality. It is therefore not surprising that the 1200 Sport was the Spanish bestseller.

And another incredibly successful project – SEAT Ibiza first generation – the transition of the Spanish brand into the possession of Volkswagen. Now think about was the history of the SEAT if in 1986 the purchase did not materialize. Because a huge number of models, which we love, were created during the development of the SEAT under the wing of Volkswagen AG.

In addition, the SEAT also will forever be the brand manages to combine its heritage the work of incredible designers Giorgetto Giugiaro, Walter de Silva and Luc Donckerwolke.

Today, this legacy SEAT looks confidently to the future: the company’s turnover for the year 2019 amounted to more than 11 billion euros, car sales for several years in a row grow (though 2020 for all manufacturers will be the big test), and “charged” version of the Cupra has grown into a separate brand.

In his 70’s to be so bright, attractive and full of energy for new achievements – still the same problem. But the SEAT seems to get.
