The Chinese company BYD has presented a new concept of the Ocean-X electric vehicle. In proportions and design, the novelty resembles the Porsche Taycan (although it does not copy it), the dynamics are promised at about the same level, but the main trump card should be the power reserve.
BYD Ocean-X is built on a new e-platform 3.0 architecture with a flat traction battery underground and “the world’s first 8-in-1 electrical system”. What this means, the developers did not indicate, noting only that the concept is all-wheel drive and has an 800-volt charging system, which allows you to “pump” electricity for 150 km in 5 minutes.
From 0 to 100 km / h, such an electric car should accelerate in 2.9 seconds, that is, only 0.1 seconds slower than the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. At the same time, the power plant is efficient enough to match the current mono-drive counterparts in terms of electricity consumption , and in combination with verified aerodynamics (Cd coefficient is 0.21), with a fully charged battery, an electric car should travel more than 1000 km.
It remains to wait what of the declared will appear in the production car. However, BYD did not name the timing of such a model.
