An independent artist presented his vision of what a high-performance Cadillac CT5 station wagon could become. This version of the car could become a full-fledged successor to the CTS Sport Wagon.
In February of this year, the American brand unveiled the powerful CT5-V Blackwing sedan. In fact, it is the most productive production car of the company, which is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine, developing 668 horsepower and 893 Nm of torque. At the moment, the Internet has already begun to speak out in favor of the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing being presented in a more practical station wagon. It was this version of the powerful model that the independent designer presented on his Instagram page. The car is shown in an amateur render.
Artist sugardesign_1 has unveiled the sporty CT5 Sport Wagon with a long roof as a direct successor to the CTS Sport Wagon.
In fact, his design is based on the regular CT5 rather than its flagship Blackwing version, and combines a familiar front and rear view inspired by the Cadillac CTS. I must say that the resulting car looks pretty good.
The chances of seeing a Cadillac sports station wagon on the market in the near future seem to be close to zero. The reason for this is not the company’s reluctance to build it, but the current market trends. Simply put, everyone says they want a station wagon, but then no one buys a station wagon and instead opts for a crossover or even an SUV.
Going back to this CT5 rendering, we can imagine Cadillac could sell this sporty wagon in Europe, just like the South Korean Genesis would sell the G70 Shooting Brake exclusively in the Old Continent. However, the competition in this segment is tough, and this most likely means that the CT5 Sport Wagon will remain just imagination.
