According to the American brand, all engines for the high-performance Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing sedan will be assembled by hand. A special area will be released on the blower cover, on which there will be a signature of the master who assembled the motor.
It is well known that the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing super sedan will have a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine manufactured by the American concern GM. However, unlike most motors that are mass-produced for passenger cars, the LT4 motors for the “charged” CT5-V Blackwing will be assembled exclusively by hand – production will be established at the GM production site.
The LT4 engine is not a new development for GM. Previously, it was equipped with the “charged” Cadillac CTS-V, the sports coupe Chevy Corvette C7 Z06 – it is quite possible that it will even appear under the hood of the high-performance SUV Cadillac Escalade-V.
The hand-built engine will be the most powerful in the history of the automaker – it boasts 668 horsepower and 893 Nm of torque.
Each LT4 motor will be fully assembled by a single craftsman, which means whoever is responsible for the assembly can put their name on the engine – GM has machined a small area on the blower cover where the nameplate of the engineer responsible for the assembly will be located .
A V8 engine propels the super sedan to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds. The Blackwing sedan will be able to reach a speed of 322 km / h.
The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will be available with a 10-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission from Tremec. Car prices start at $ 84,990 and top up at $ 125,980.
